Samuel Eto'o |
The striker was released by Chelsea earlier this summer and is on the
lookout for a new club.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to sign a new striker to add
firepower to his frontline.
Roberto Soldado suffered a frustrating first season in the Premier League,
Emmanuel Adebayor managed just 25 appearances last season and the
Argentinian boss' only alternative is youngster Harry Kane.
33-year-old Eto'o is demanding £100,000 a week which has put off Liverpool
who are on the hunt for a replacement for the departed Luis Suarez.
Brendan Rodgers has looked at Karim Benzema, Radamel Falcao and Wilfried
Bony but he has been spurned by each.
So the Anfield club offered former Barcelona man Eto'o £50,000 a week which
he reportedly rejected.
The Cameroonian striker has also spoken to Everton with Roberto Martinez
keen to partner him up-front with club-record signing Romelu Lukaku.
However, the popular Spanish manager faces further competition from Inter
Milan and Ajax.
