The Coalition of Civil Society Groups have appealed to
President Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief Justice of Nigeria to overhaul the
nation’s judiciary in order to weed out corrupt judicial officers.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja on Sunday, the National
President of the Coalition, Comrade Bassey Edim, said there was an urgent need
for judicial reforms.
He expressed the belief that the reforms would restore the
confidence of all Nigerians in the sector.
Comrade Edim particularly advised the Chief Justice of
Nigeria and the National Judicial Council to critically examine the activities
of members of Election Petition Tribunals across the federation.
