Former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi has lost his wife in the early
hours of Wednesday.
According to report, she died of cancer in a California hospital, sending
the family of the former Super Eagles’ captain into mourning.
A heart-broken Keshi said his late wife had been sick for a while and
that he was still in shock at the death of his companion.
“She was ill for a while now and I’m still in shock at this great loss,”
Keshi was reported to have stated.
“She is my co-opted mother, she is more like my own sister and was the
rock behind my successes as a player and later as coach,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the former Secretary-General of the Nigeria Football
Association (NFA), Sanni Toro has expressed sympathy with the erstwhile Super
Eagles’ Coach, Stephen Keshi on the loss of his wife on Wednesday.
He said: “I wish on behalf of myself and my family, condole Coach Steven
Keshi on the death of his beloved wife, which occurred yesterday. We mourn her
death. We pray that her soul rest in peace.”
Keshi’s wife, Katherine whom he married at the age of twenty-one, was
reportedly pronounced dead on Wednesday at the family hometown in Delta State
Delta state based radio station carried the news of her demise.
