• A handmade plane built in 570 days by 35 year old Ethiopian inventor Asmelash Zerefu is seen in the Sendafa town of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on December 09, 2015. Asmelash Zerefu, who doesn't have any aviation education, plans to fly his plane next year.

• Child soldiers in Pibor, Jonglei State, surrendered their weapons and uniforms in a ceremony overseen by the South Sudan National Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration Commission, and the Cobra Faction and supported by UNICEF.

• South African security forces clash with students who marched towards the Parliament building in Cape Town, South Africa on October 21, 2015 during a protest against fee hikes. Universities in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Pretoria and other cities halted lectures during several days of protests against fee increases that many students say will force poor blacks further out of the education system.
