You know, the two schools of thought. One says people are born gay and the
other says it’s a choice.
Well, according to Dr. Ben Carson,
it’s game over. He’s in the “choice” camp. You know why? Because prison is
proof. Yep, you go in straight and you come out gay.
Carson made that revelation this morning on CNN’s “New Day.” It happened
when anchor Chris Cuomo asked the neurosurgeon if he thought being gay is a
choice, he replied, “Absolutely.” He elaborated with a this, er, rather
interesting response:
“Because a lot of people who go into prison go into prison straight — and
when they come out, they’re gay. So, did something happen while they were in
there?
Ask yourself that question.”
Dr. Carson, by the way, is being seen as a candidate for 2016 Republican
presidential nomination. We’d like to suggest Sarah Palin as his running mate.
They’d be perfect.
But we digress,. Back to the interview. After some pressing from Cuomo,
visibly agitated by the strident ignorance before him, Carson goes on:
“Why do gay people want to get married? Why do they say they want to get
married? Because they want to have various rights—property rights, visitation
rights,” he said. “Why can’t any two human beings, I don’t care what their
sexual orientation is, why can’t they have the legal right to do those things?
That does not require changing the definition of marriage.”
